What cloud-hosted really means
Instead of keeping a phone server in your office, your phones connect over the internet to a system hosted by Vox Rail. It handles the greetings, extensions, voicemail, and rules that guide your calls.
Your team gets familiar business calling tools. We take care of the hosted system and help you adjust it as your needs change.
01 / LESS TO MAINTAIN
Your phone system runs in our hosted environment. Vox Rail manages the phone server and its configuration, while your office uses compatible phones and an internet connection.
02 / ROOM TO GROW
Add users, update call routing, or connect another location without replacing an office phone server. We help plan the service and equipment needed for each change.
03 / CONNECTED LOCATIONS
Use shared call handling, internal extensions, and transfers across locations. Give customers a consistent experience even when your people work in different places.
Flexibility where it matters
The best phone system follows your workflow. It can welcome callers, share the workload, and send calls to a different destination when your team is unavailable.
Start with a simple setup and build from there. A small office may need a greeting and a ring group. A growing team may benefit from departments, queues, shared mailboxes, and rules for several locations.

Example routingGreet callers and ring your front desk, or let them choose the department they need.
Use a queue or alternate destination instead of leaving every caller to try again.
Route calls to a colleague, another office, an approved backup number, or voicemail.
Play your after-hours greeting and send callers to the right mailbox or designated contact.
Practical tools. Flexible possibilities.
Choose the tools that suit your team. We help configure them together so your phone system supports a useful workflow, rather than becoming a list of features nobody uses.
Welcome callers with your own greeting and offer simple choices for departments, locations, or services.

In practiceLet someone pick up a waiting call at another desk.
Choose where a call goes when someone is unavailable, with alternate destinations or a sequence of devices.
In practiceTry the office extension before an approved backup number.

Feature availability and any related costs are reviewed with your estimate. Some capabilities need compatible devices or additional configuration. Call recording is enabled according to your requirements and applicable consent rules.
A different way to run your phones
Hosted service changes where the phone system runs and who looks after it. You can reduce the work of maintaining a phone server while keeping useful business calling tools.
| What changes | Keeping a phone server in your office | Vox Rail cloud-hosted service |
|---|---|---|
| Server equipment | Office hardware needs space, power, and eventual replacement. | No office phone server to purchase or maintain. Phones and network equipment still need planning. |
| System maintenance | Someone must manage the server, software, and configuration. | Vox Rail manages the hosted phone system and helps with configuration changes. |
| Adding a location | Expansion depends on the existing system’s capacity and connectivity. | Connect another office to the shared system, with its devices, service capacity, and network needs reviewed. |
| Local outages | A server at an affected office depends on that site’s power and network arrangements. | The hosted server is separate from your office. Configured alternate destinations can help route incoming calls elsewhere. |
| Budgeting | Plan for server purchases, maintenance, and calling service. | Review recurring service, setup, and equipment together in a tailored estimate. |
Thoughtful setup from the start
A well-configured phone system brings the service, devices, and network together. We review the details that affect your team’s day-to-day calling experience.

Before you get started
Have a question specific to your office, equipment, or call flow? We’re happy to work through it with you.
Ask Vox RailIn many cases, yes. Vox Rail checks transfer eligibility and coordinates number porting. Keep your current service active until the transfer has completed.
Possibly. We review the model, condition, firmware support, and compatibility of your existing phones before recommending what to keep or replace. Phones purchased through Vox Rail include a one-year warranty.
No. Compatible desk phones can connect to the hosted system, giving your team a familiar way to make and answer calls. Remote devices and software-based options can be reviewed based on compatibility and your service needs.
Yes. Users at different locations can share a hosted phone system, with extensions and call routing configured for each office. We review the connectivity and device setup at each location during planning.
The hosted phone server operates separately from your office connection, but phones at that office still need working internet and power. We can plan alternate call destinations so incoming callers can reach another location, an approved external number, or voicemail when appropriate. That routing must be configured for your service; it does not restore the office connection.
Feature availability, configuration, and pricing are reviewed as part of your estimate. Some capabilities require compatible devices, additional setup, or a particular service arrangement. We help choose the features your business will actually use.
Vox Rail uses encrypted connections for supported devices and configurations, along with controls for access to the hosted system. Calls passing through external telephone networks are not universally end-to-end encrypted. We review your requirements and explain how the proposed setup protects supported connections.
